After a successful Melbourne, Australia World Urban Parks Partner Congress, we are excited to keep the international urban parks momentum going in Kazan.
Kazan is a Russian city and the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Geographically, Kazan is a crossroads for major trade routes, uniting Europe and Asia. It's a junction of civilizations and a meeting point for two cultures — East and West.
Urban policy is focused on organizing large-scale events. Each event generates fresh thinking and builds on existing expertise whilst also ensuring a valuable legacy: from the regeneration of urban areas to the development of tourist infrastructure.
Kazan’s is identified as a growing, dynamic city with significant opportunities for improved liveability, Kazan has already been placed in the top 10 most sustainably developed cities in the Russian Federation.
Since 2016 the Institute for Urban Development of the Republic of Tatarstan has been implementing the Program for the Development of Public Spaces, as a part of which more than 300 parks, embankments, pedestrian streets, public gardens and squares in all municipal districts of the region were improved. Another 60 sites and programs are planned to be developed in 2018/2019.

The Institute for Urban Development of the Republic of Tatarstan drives the implementation of programs for redevelopment of public spaces, design and architectural supervision of facilities while implementing government programs for shaping a contemporary urban environment in the Republic of Tatarstan, implementation of cooperative design practices, arrangement of urban cultural events, education seminars, architectural awards and exhibitions.

Venue Location Announced
The recently opened International Exhibition Centre – The Kazan Expo will host the 2019 World Urban Parks Congress.
The Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre features a competition zone, exhibition space, gallery, congress halls, multi-purpose halls, VIP zone, lounge zone, and a restaurant. Open areas and a hotel featuring 200 rooms will also be developed at the complex. The exhibition centre’s proximity to the Kazan International Airport and the City.
